BOLD

Week # 9-Web 2.0 helped me understand the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0.

After listening to the OReilly article, "What is Web 2.0", the difference in my mind boils down to Web 1.0 being top-down control ( as above...so below ) ; whereas Web 2.0 is bottom-up based on the user's needs, ( as below...so above) .

The bottom line to me is simple operation of all this technology. Good business is never complicated. It is honest, transparent and customer friendly, thus good for all concerned.

As a novice participant, I have noticed that many applications complicate every move with roadblock after roadblock, while Google quickly escorts me through mazes.

Why this is so, I can't explain, but it's easy to see why Google's stock sells for 10 times that of Microsoft, the 800 lb. gorilla in the room.

Thanks again for this opportunity add these tools to the 3 Rs from my pre-tech business past.

BOLD

Learning 2.0 remix has inspired me to get on with it: the real world of my children and their children.

I'm not saying that I understand why technology is changing the way we study, work, play, and communicate with one another. But, thanks to this experience, I can, at last, accept what I know to be true.

Google reader is a great new tool which I use everyday.
Blogspot , not so much.
Facebook, maybe with time.
Delicious, could become a regular tool.

For Christmas, I bought myself a Wii to play with, I called Cox and got the home computer up and running, and who knows where these endless paths (links) of communication will lead me?

Thank you Diane and Cindy for opening the door of this aging, narrowed mind. It's truly exciting to have a whole new box of tools (WEB2.0) to play with.
